Child Safety Standards
BookMyLove is for adults only and has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These are our standards for preventing it, finding it and acting on it.
Last updated 3 November 2026.
What is not allowed — ever
- Any account belonging to someone under 18.
- Any image, video, text or link that sexualises a child, including drawn, edited or AI-made material.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or manipulating a child, or an adult to reach a child, for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion, trafficking, or offering, asking for or arranging sexual contact with a child.
- Sharing or asking for anyone’s intimate images of a child, or links to where they can be found.
How we prevent it
- 18+ only. Everyone gives their date of birth at sign-up and anyone under 18 is refused. Our App Store and Google Play listings are rated for adults.
- Verified profiles. The live selfie checks that the person using a profile is the person in its main photo.
- Every photo and video is checked before anyone else can see it — automatically for nudity and sexual content (for a video, frames from across it), and by a trained person for anything borderline.
- Messages, request notes and profiles are checked against a list of sexual and abusive words and phrases before they are delivered or saved.
- Consent before contact. No one can message a woman, or anyone who asks first, until they approve; people can block and report at any time.
How to report a concern
- In the app: open the profile or chat, tap Report and choose Child sexual abuse or exploitation (or Appears to be under 18). These reports go to the top of our queue, and the person is never told who reported them.
- By email: childsafety@bookmylove.com — for anyone, including people who don’t use BookMyLove.
- To the authorities directly: in India, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or 1930; anywhere, the NCMEC CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org). If a child is in immediate danger in India, call 112 or Childline 1098.
Please don’t download, screenshot or forward abusive material as evidence — tell us where it is and we will preserve it.
What we do when we find it
- Act at once. The content is taken down and the account is closed and blocked from coming back.
- Preserve evidence. We keep the material and account records securely, out of anyone’s reach, for law enforcement — never longer or more widely than the law requires.
- Report it. We report CSAM and child sexual exploitation to the authorities: in India through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and the police, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 requires, and to NCMEC’s CyberTipline. We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement.
- Review and improve. Each case is reviewed to make our prevention better.
Laws we follow
We comply with the child-safety laws that apply to us, including India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 (including section 67B) and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the laws of the countries where BookMyLove is available.
