Community Guidelines
BookMyLove is for finding your love and dating to marry. Everyone here has promised the same thing: a real relationship — no flings, no hook-ups. These guidelines keep it that way. Breaking them can get your account closed.
Last updated 6 November 2026.
Be here for the right reason
- Join only if you’re looking for a life partner, and say honestly on your profile what you’re looking for: marriage, or a relationship that leads to it.
- No hook-ups, flings, one-night stands, “friends with benefits”, sexting or “sugar” arrangements. Messages and profiles that ask for them are stopped before anyone sees them.
- Nothing paid. Offering or asking for sex for money, escort services or any other paid arrangement gets you banned and may be reported to the police.
- Be single. If you’re married or in a committed relationship, BookMyLove isn’t for you.
Be yourself
- Use your real first name and date of birth, and recent photos where your face is clearly visible. Your main photo must be just you.
- No photos of other people pretending to be you, celebrities, cartoons or AI-made faces. Taking the live selfie gets you a verified badge.
- One account per person. Don’t make a new account after a ban.
Photos and videos
Every upload is checked before anyone else can see it. Don’t post:
- nudity, underwear or swimwear shots that are about your body, or anything sexual;
- violence, weapons, blood, self-harm or drugs;
- hate symbols, or anything mocking a religion, caste, race, gender or sexual orientation;
- photos of children on their own, or any photo of a child that isn’t yours to share;
- phone numbers, social handles, links, QR codes of other services or ads.
Buzz
- Post what’s happening around you: a photo, or a video of up to 10 seconds. The rules for photos and videos above apply, and every post is checked before it shows.
- Film only yourself, or people who said yes. Never post anyone who doesn’t know, or anyone’s private details. If you’re in a post without your consent, report it: it’s hidden for everyone straight away while we look.
- Buzz is anonymous to other members, not to us: we know who posted, and the usual rules and bans apply. Don’t use a post to share contact details or to find someone.
Respect and consent
- She decides. When a man scans a woman, nothing happens until she approves him. LGBTQ+ connections, and anyone who turns on “Always ask me first”, work the same way. Don’t try to get around it.
- No means no. If someone declines, doesn’t answer, or blocks you, don’t contact them again — in the app or anywhere else.
- Don’t ask for intimate photos, and never share anyone’s photos, messages or personal details without their permission.
- No insults, threats, stalking or hate. Our filter stops abusive messages: each one is a strike, threats and slurs count double, and three strikes within 90 days close your account.
- Only wear or share your code where you’re happy to be approached, and never put someone else’s code anywhere.
Safety and money
- Never ask for or send money, gifts, OTPs, bank details or investment “tips”. Report anyone who asks.
- Keep chatting and calling inside BookMyLove until you trust someone; it never shows your number.
- Meet for the first time somewhere busy and public, and tell a friend where you’ll be. In an emergency in India, call 112.
18 and over only
BookMyLove is strictly for adults. Anyone who appears to be under 18 is removed. Anything that sexualises or endangers a child is reported to the authorities — see our Child Safety Standards.
Reporting
Use Report on any profile or chat. The person is never told who reported them. Reports about safety, someone under 18 or a child are reviewed first. We review every report within 24 hours: content that breaks these guidelines is removed and the account that posted it is suspended or closed. Three reports from different people in a week pause an account until we’ve reviewed it. You can also block anyone, at any time, from their profile or your chat.
What happens if guidelines are broken
Depending on what happened, we may stop a message or photo, warn you, remove content, suspend your account, or close it for good — and for illegal behaviour, report it to the police. If you think we made a mistake, write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@bookmylove.com.
